Advanced Powder Processing and Applications (APPA)

Powder metallurgy (PM) consists of design, production of powder and its component manufacturing process using various materials. It is a noble or advanced materials processing technology that can create high-performance and high-value-added materials, since up-graded and new properties have been demanded in various industrial so far. Advanced Powder metallurgy (APM) offers advantages over other existent forming technologies such as forging and metal casting in the area of material utilization, shape complexity, near-net-shape dimensional control, volume production and others. This symposium will focus state of the art on APM design, recent advances of manufacturing processes, mechanical properties and applications of PM materials as well as on current interest of industrials. This will also serve as a platform for information to scientists, academics, technologists and industries to present innovations, exchange views, share results and discuss opinions and thoughts in the field of PM and the applications.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to)
  • Advanced powder production technologies
  • Powder type materials processes
  • Microstructure and property of products
  • Modeling and simulation
  • PM Applications
  • Industrial trend
Invited speakers (tentative) include
  • TBD
