Porous materials deal with various porous materials, such as nanoporous, mesoporous and microporous, etc., and with multi-phase materials (metals, ceramic, and polymers). These materials vary depending on the size, arrangement and shape of the pores, as well as the porosity and composition of the material itself. These materials have multi-functional characteristics according to progressive physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and catalytic properties owing to their pore-structures, which can affect as an advanced factor for use in engineering applications, such as semiconductor processing gas filtration, water purification, heat exchangers, fuel cell, shock absorber, sensor, catalyst, etc. This session focuses on the themes of the materials, manufacturing, functionalization, applications and is aimed at those with an interest in the current the near-term future use of porous materials in industrial applications.
